1. Scope and operator
This Privacy Policy applies to ratpicz.com, the Ratpicz subscription service, and related support communications (collectively, the “Service”). Ratpicz is operated by Ascensa LLC (“Ascensa,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). It does not apply to third-party websites or services that have their own privacy policies.
2. Information we collect
We may collect the following categories of information:
- Subscription and contact information: your email address and records of your subscription status, cancellation status, paid period, and Rat Drop delivery history.
- Billing information: Stripe customer, subscription, Checkout, invoice, and transaction identifiers and limited payment status information. Stripe collects and processes your payment-card and billing details. We do not receive or store complete card numbers or card security codes.
- Communications: information you include when you contact us for support, privacy requests, or billing questions.
- Technical information: information ordinarily generated when you use a website, such as IP address, browser and device type, requested pages, timestamps, referring page, and security or diagnostic logs. Our hosting and security providers may process this information on our behalf.
3. How we use information
We use information to:
- create, bill, maintain, and cancel subscriptions;
- deliver monthly Rat Drops and service messages;
- provide support and respond to requests;
- reconcile payments and prevent duplicate deliveries;
- protect the Service, detect abuse, and troubleshoot failures;
- maintain business, tax, accounting, and legal records; and
- enforce our agreements and comply with applicable law.
Where applicable law requires a legal basis, we process information as necessary to perform our contract with you, for our legitimate interests in operating and securing the Service, to comply with law, or with your consent.
4. How we disclose information
We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We may disclose information in these limited circumstances:
- Service providers: Stripe for checkout, billing, fraud prevention, and the customer portal; Cloudflare for hosting, databases, network security, and operational logs; and our email delivery provider for Rat Drops and service communications.
- Legal and safety: when reasonably necessary to comply with law or legal process, protect rights or safety, investigate fraud or abuse, or enforce our agreements.
- Business transfers: in connection with a merger, financing, acquisition, reorganization, bankruptcy, or sale of all or part of our business, subject to appropriate safeguards.
- At your direction: when you ask us to disclose information or otherwise consent.
5. Cookies and similar technologies
Ratpicz does not currently use advertising cookies or nonessential analytics. The Service and its providers may use strictly necessary technologies for security, network operation, checkout, and the Stripe customer portal. When you follow a link to Stripe, Stripe’s own privacy and cookie practices apply.
6. Retention
We retain subscription, billing-reference, delivery, support, and security records only for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the Service, resolve disputes, prevent fraud, enforce agreements, and satisfy tax, accounting, and legal obligations. Retention periods vary by record type and legal requirement. We may retain de-identified or aggregated information that can no longer reasonably identify you.
7. Security and international processing
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information, including access controls, encrypted connections, and protected secret storage. No system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. Our providers may process information in the United States and other countries where they operate. Where required, appropriate safeguards are used for international transfers.
8. Your privacy choices and rights
You can update billing information or cancel future renewals through the Stripe customer portal. Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, portability, restriction, or objection to certain processing, or to withdraw consent. You may also have the right to appeal our decision or contact your local data-protection authority. These rights may be subject to legal exceptions.
To make a privacy request, email hello@ratpicz.com. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request. We will not discriminate against you for exercising an applicable privacy right.
9. Children’s privacy
The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, contact us so we can take appropriate action. A parent or guardian must make any purchase by a minor who is otherwise permitted to use the Service.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes to the Service, our practices, or legal requirements. We will post the updated policy here and change the effective date. If required by law, we will provide additional notice or obtain consent.
